Spent an hour with a brand new HP DL380 last week that would not talk to 
the network dispite dmesg show both ports were detected.  Once I plugged 
working cables into both they started to work (instead of just the one I 
usually use on the workbench).  Remove one and networking 
dies...

Not nice.
