On the redhat systems, I'm just going with the lastest kernel rpm 
package, kernel-2.4.20-20.9.  And on Suse, it's k_smp-2.4.19-237.  I 
hate to not use rpm, but I guess I'll try 2.4.22 and see what that does 
for me.  Thanks for the advice.
