Another idea - make it use bpsh by setting    
export P4_RSHCOMMAND="bpsh" or set it to use some shell script of yours that 
massages its parameters into the format bpsh expects.

bpsh will start a process without requiring rsh or ssh, using Scylds bproc 
support.
