[Beowulf] link negotiation problem with Intel nic

  The machine I'm using as frontend has a onboard Intel 82540em nic
that's refusing to negotiate the link parameters with a 3COM gigabit
switch. Anyone has met this problem before ?
I've already used this machine connected to a Netgear gigabit switch.
