One of the major issues we have is that some of the commercial software our
users use is only supported under RH7.3 as of yet.
We'd really like to see broader support for other distributions, but it seems
that the market is going the other way with people only offering support for
for RH (and presumably only for RH Enterprise in the near future) or for
SLES.
We've had support issues already just because we're running a slightly
different version of PBS to the one the vendor supports (leaving me to do a
lot of bug fixing of their code, fortunately it's just Perl!). I'd hate to
think what would happen if we were running a different distro altogether.
