Question about mpich libraries

I have recently installed mpich v.1.2.5.2 under Slackware Linux 9.0
with Linux kernel 2.4.22 and glibc 2.3.1 and compilers gcc 3.2.2
& lf95 v.5.5. My mpich config options were 
	./configure -without-romio -disable-cc++ -fc=lf95 -f90=lf95
		--prefix=/usr/local/mpich

However the application (geofem) will not compile because it cannot 
find lmpichf90nc which is meant to be in mpich/lib (but is not there).
The error message is "usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lmpichf90rc"

Can somebody tell me how I might generate/obtain this library?
