pvm: checking load of hosts

Hi all,
 I am running a pvm based monte carlo calculation consisting of a master 
and a number of identical spawned programs. I need a particular number 
of simulations performed and would like to split this number amongst the 
spawned programs depending upon their load at the time of spawning. Is 
there an easy way to do this from within my program using a routine in 
the pvm libraries?
