Hi,

since linux-2.4.21 the magic-sysrq's can be trigger via keyboard. 

echo s > /proc/sysrq-trigger 
echo u >/proc/sysrq-trigger 
echo o /proc/sysrq-trigger

takes less then a second to turn my system off.
