This is only true for the IA64 version of Rocks 3.0.0 (the current version),
the release notes say:
http://rocks.npaci.edu/rocks-documentation/3.0.0/release-notes.html
Based on RedHat 7.3 for x86 and RedHat Advanced Workstation 2.1 for ia64
(all packages recompiled from publicly available source).

Rocks is pretty cool, we've recently put it on an IA32 cluster owned by one of
our member institutions which we manage for them and we've tweaked the
installed systems a little (removed OpenPBS and MAUI and put Scalable PBS and
the latest MAUI on instead), but that said it just works (for us). YMMV. :-)

Not tried the IA64 version (yet), so can't comment on that yet.
