How to make the executed file parallelized

Hi Beowulf:
     A g77 compiled file is executed successfully under c shell with the following command
" export NP=2 ; 'execution name' " . However, we find there is only one PC working. We test the executed file mpi-mandel and find it is running parallel. 
    How can I solve this problem? Do I miss some necessary steps?
