PBS x SGE comparison?

Is there a documented scheduler interface, intended to remain
relatively unchanged in the future?

PBS pinpoints out that schedulers are supposed to be replaced, but I
am not sure for SGE - is there more standards than just the current
scheduling daemon source code?

For sure, SGE scheduler _is_ the component I would like to replace
with something custom, based on my little experience playing with SGE
so far.
