Scyld: Channel bonding?

I'm trying to get a handle on supported hardware configs in order to
make some purchasing decisions...

Is channel bonding well-supported with Intel controllers in the Scyld
package?

In what instances can I expect channel bonding to improve real-world
performance (and by approx how much)?  NFS?  Bootstrapping the slaves?
