[Beowulf] Most stable kernel for mpich2 cluster?

Although we roll our own, I would recommend you run a standard kernel unless there is a compelling reason not to.  Doing your own kernel takes time and a lot of testing.

I would use the kernel already shipped by your linux distribution of choice. 
This would have several advantages including getting security updates without 
having to keep track of the details yourself.
