a) attach a console to the machine, either a serial line or a 
monitor/keyboard

b) run memtest on it, followed by CPUburn or some other 
compute-intensive task for a day or two

c) ask your vendor for support

You mention a BIOS upgrade - get through to technical support for your 
motherboard manufacturer, and get a clear statement of exactly what the 
BIOS upgrade does. Have memory timings or something changed - and check 
thet your memory is supported on that motherboard.
