GGF11 - June 6-10, 2004, Honolulu, Hawaii (Oahu)
The Global Grid Forum (GGF) will be holding its next event (GGF11) at
the Kalia Tower Mid-Pacific Conference Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, June
6-10, 2004. This event will held in conjunction with HPDC-13 and will
focus on "Building Foundations for Enterprise Grids". Specifically, the
program will include the following highlights:
- 8 tutorials
- 4 workshops (http://www.extreme.indiana.edu/groc/index.html)
- Keynotes and invited talks by Ian Foster, Hiro Kishimoto, Yoshio
Tanaka, Andrew Grimshaw, David Snelling, Marty Humphrey, and others.
- Several panels including a standards body collaboration panel
with representatives from OASIS, DMTF, IETF, and W3C.
- 64 working group or research group sessions
- 7 birds-of-a-feather (BOF) sessions

GGF's Second Telecom Focus Session, June 21, 2004
GGF has selected Supercomm2004 (McCormick Place, Chicago) as the venue
for its second telecom focus session. This meeting will continue the
discussions started at GGF10 in Berlin where several large telecom
providers, vendors, and researchers met to explore the impact of grid
computing on telecommunication companies.
The two primary focuses of the meeting will be:
- Business value of grids in multiple vertical markets
- Requirements for Grid Services: Telcos as suppliers of
commercial grid services.
This meeting is free but you must RSVP to Steve Crumb (scrumb at ggf.org)
prior to June 4, 2004.
The Global Grid Forum (GGF) is a community-initiated forum of thousands
of individuals from industry and research, leading the global
standardization effort for grid computing. GGF's primary objectives are
to promote and support the development, deployment, and implementation
of grid technologies and applications via the creation and documentation
of "best practices" - technical specifications, user experiences, and
