Instant Clusters

These links are to CDROMs that allow booting a cluster "on top of" an exiting OS (Windows) without touching the underlying OS. They should be helpful for those that want to experiment with clusters or have dual use systems.

ParallelKnoppix (PK) is the fastest and easiest way there is to create a HPC cluster. It is designed to be easy to use, but it is also suitable for serious work.

The BCCD image addresses this problem by providing a non-destructive overlay way to run a full-fledged parallel computing environment on just about any workstation-class system...We're happy to say that this now includes the MAC too!
